Monthly Musings February 2020: Luck

Hey there Besties! Whew this is a week, but I am taking a break to join my friend Holly for our new link up Monthly Musings. As we head into March, today we are talking about luck. Ready to talk all things luck and March? I know I am.

1) Do you believe in luck?

Yes, I do. Mostly I believe that it is our guardian angel helping us out and that it is really God helping us out.

2) Do have a lucky person or charm?

I actually don't, but a very weird coincidence is that everytime I haerd Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in the morning, I have a monumentially bad day. This has been happening for over 20 years, so I avoid that song in the morning at all costs. This is the opposite of luck for me.

3) Do you play the lottery? Buy scratch tickets?

Not regularly, but if the jackpot is really big then I will absolutely buy $5 or $10 worth of tickets.

4) Would you rather be lucky or smart?

I think b.oth are important.

5) Have you ever won anything?

I have won several Vera Bradley purses at bunco. I never win the money but I always seem to win the purse. The Best thing I have ever won was a trip to Cabo San Lucas at gala about 15 years ago through a raffle.

6) Who is the luckiest person you know?

This is a hard one. I see a lot of people around me have Good luck.

7) Will you be wearing green on St.Patrick's Day?

Well, my name is Patty...so yes I will be wearing green.

8) Green beer or green bagels?

Well, since I am gluten free, neither for me!

9) Do you make any fun food for St. Patrick's Day?

Actually, I don't make any fun St. Patrick's Day food.

10) St. Patrick's Day--go our or stay in?

My years of going out on St. Patrick's Day are long over! I had my fun in my youth...maybe a little too much fun.

Thanks for joining us today. I hope you will link up, visit other blogs here and make comments. Wishing you the Best luck in March!

Hey Besties! Coming to you from Omaha, NE today. It's Friday and today is a day we have been pushing for. I am on a work trip and we all have been working hard in the Good Better Best household. Hopefully later today we can exhale! More on that hopefully to come.

I am linking up with ErikaAndreaNarci to share what brings me Joy this week for Friday Favorites.

1) The Bachelor

season 15 peter GIF by The Bachelorette

Listen, Pilot Pete is not exactly a firecracker, windmill aside, so we had thought this season might be boring. It has been said, and now we know it is true, that when it comes to The Bachelor, it's not about the lead, it's about the rest of the cast. Wow...what a bunch of crazies this season. Usually there is one villain or maybe two with a twist mid-season. Nope..not Peter's ladies, it seems like crazy and villain are the norm and not the exception this season. I think only Hannah Ann and Madison are the only normal ladies.

What I am Podcasting Lately

Hey there Besties! I am here today to talk about something fun that is part of my everyday life, podcasts. I was a little late to the podcast game and have only really been listening to podcasts for about the last four years. Much like all of my interests, if you have been around Good Better Best for even a minute, it will probably not come as a surprise to you that my taste in podcasts are all over the map. Because I know a lot of us are always looking for a Good podcast, I have listed some of the podcasts I have been listening to lately and those that are my permanent favorites list.

Hallmark Channel's Bubbly Sesh

I was a fan of Jacks and Shawl even before they became the official podcast of the Hallmark Channel. I was even a guest on their pod last spring right before they became Hallmark official. These ladies love Hallmark as much as I do and they are always upbeat and a Good option when you need a Hallmark lift.

Happy Valentine's Day Besties! This has been a long week but now I am looking forward to a little Valentine's chill time with my loves, two legged and four legged. We all have Monday off and I am looking forward to a little rest. Since it is Friday, I am linking up with ErikaAndreaNarci to share what brings me Joy this week.

1) Busy Night Enchilada Bake

This recipe is so Good and the Best part is that if you can saute an onion and some ground turkey and open some cans, you can make this. It can be premade or half premade and then baked in the oven on busy nights when you get some. Hockey Guy can attest that it makes really Good leftovers especially when you scoop it up with tortilla chips. It is also packed with nutrients to keep you and your young athletes going.

Busy Night Enchilada Bake

I think a lot of us are starting to be in that spot in our lives where winter sports are ending and the evaluations for spring sports is beginning. We have had this with the past two weekends with lacrosse and hockey.  This leads to a lot of cramming in things like eating into your weekend schedule.

My Busy Night Enchilada bake can be pre-made or half pre-made for nights like this. I had about 20 minutes before we needed to leave for hockey on Sunday so I cooked the meat and then let it cool a little and popped it in the refrigerator to help save some time when we got home from the game. It was a Good call. You could also assemble the entire bake and then cook it when you get home. Hockey Guy can attest that it is also very Good reheated the next day.

Friday Favorites: Warm Coffee, Better Beauty, Clean Home, Best Boots and Good Partnerships

Last week was kind of crazy with Hockey Guy being sick and just the general vibe of getting things done. After a Friday off, it is time to get back to Fiday Favorites and link up with ErikaAndreaNarci for the things that are bringing me Joy this week.

1) Coffee Warmer

B0792SR8YL

This coffee warmer is a simple Joy. I cannot believe I didn't have one of these until now. Another hockey mom was talking about the desktop coffee warmer and I hadn't really thought about one of these in a while. It keeps your coffee or tea at the perfect temperature all day. The Best part, it turns on and off based on the pressure of the mug, so unless you leave your empty cup on the warmer, there is not risk of forgetting to turn this off.  This was a Good option for me, as I would totally be that girl who left the coffee warmer on all weekend.

This would also make a really Good Valentine's Day gift.
