Monthly Musings January 2022 Love & Valentine's Day

Welcome to the first Monthly Musings of 2022 with my co-host Holly. Every month we post a fun list of questions and are blessed to have other writers join us for a link up.

Are you ready to talk about love and Valentine's Day? Let's jump into Monthly Musings.

1. Favorite Valentine's Memory?

This would probably be the Valentine's Day when Hockey Guy was in first or second grade and we surprised him that morning with a trip to Disney at breakfast. I had a work trip at Disney (I know...right!) and we knew it was going to snow so we didn't tell him until right before we needed to leave for the airport. The runways cleared and we were able to make it out to the Happiest Place on Earth on Valentine's Day.

2. Chocolate, Flowers, Both?

I am in the both camp, but that is where we leave it. We are pretty low key when it comes to Valentine's gifts.

3. Favorite Romantic Date?

Running Daddy and I got engage at the Rainbow Room at the top of Rockefeller Center in New York the weekend before Christmas in 2004. What could be Better than that?

4. Any Valentine's Traditions With Kids?

Nothing major. We always do our Valentine's cards, etc in the morning over coffee.

5. How Do You Show Love?

I totally show love by doing things for people, especially by making food for people. When I don't know what to do for people, I make food.

6. How Do You Decorate for Valentine's Day?

I do limited decorations for Valentine's Day, but this year I think I may do a little more. I may add a tablescape and add some additional decorations. Why? Because it brings me Joy.

7. Do You Wear Red or Pink on Valentine's Day?

Absolutely! I am thinking this outfit may be perfect for a casual Valentine's dinner, class party or just feeling the day working from home.

8. Valentine's Day...Big Deal or Small Remembrance?

We are in the small camp. We just like a little something like card and chocolate. Nothing over the top.

9. Favorite Ideas for a School Valentine's Party?

We are pretty removed from this now, but in general I don't think you can go wrong with Dunkin Munchkins or Krispy Kreme donuts.

10. Have You Ever Had a Secret Admirer?

Not in the Hallmark Channel sense of things but like almost everyone, I have had that guy over the years who liked me but we all knew that was never going to happen. I have always tried to be kind to people like that in my life without leading them on.

Thanks for stopping by today. This was super fun. If you want to join us for Monthly Musings you can link up below.

  5. Your engagement story is way more romantic than mine! We got engaged as we were driving down the highway on a road trip and had to stop the car on a side road to be able to hug and kiss each other!!! Also, I love that idea of decorating a little more because it brings joy.
