Get Dressed Challenge Week 8-Thirteen Women and a Costco Skirt

Wow, week 8 Besties. We have been at the Get Dressed Challenge for two whole months. When I started this back in late March and early April as a way to get some structure around my day, I never thought that we would be at this project for two months and counting. This has become a little bit of a movement. The Best part of all of this is all of the women who have joined in to get dressed, feel Better, embrace their beauty and taken a little control back over their lives. Our cute clothes are just begging to be worn. And for the record, getting dressed for happy hour on the weekend totally counts!

If you want to join in the Get Dressed Challenge, it would be so Good to have you.  All you have to do is get dressed and either tag me on Instagram or Facebook and I will add you to the Get Dressed Challenge. Even if you don't want to take a photo, all you have to do is send me an email and let me know you got dressed. I will then also add you to my Saturday night drawings I am doing on Facebook live.  More on that below.

Are you ready to see how we got dressed this week?

This blouse by Draper James is a perfect example of cute clothes that are begging to be worn. I needed the weather to get a little warmer to bring out this blouse. It looks really Good with jeans and is perfect for work from home or a casual day at the office, if we ever get back there.

By Thursday, I really just wanted to wear something simple and comfy. I grabbed my favorite leggings and a soft cotton tunic and paired with my favorite Rothy's flats. It helped me roll into the weekend.

The weather was really getting nice on Friday and I just had to pull out some Friday vibes with this outfit. Running Daddy coincidentally had on his Nantucket reds on Friday too.

As we head towards Memorial Day, I was so ready for white jeans  and a tunic event though the weather was not totally cooperating.

Whew it was windy on Tuesday so I needed something light but with sleeves. This top from Stella & Dot comes in a bunch of colors but I love this one in royal blue. The zippers on the side help give it a flexible fit.

Give Away Update!

My beautiful Kieran Mitchell won last week's give away of the BeautyCounter Give 'Em Lipstick in BeautyCounter Red. Congrats Kieran and thank you to my sweet friend Kristine for sponsoring this give away.

This week, our drawing is from my friend Julie and she is gifting a Young Living Lavender oil. Lavender is such a great staple oil and a perfect way to dip a toe into the world of essential oils.

Lavender Essential Oil

Remember, to enter the drawing all you have to do is take a photo and send it to me, tag me on social media, or just send me a note telling me you got dressed. You can do an outfit shot only if it has been like 12 weeks since you got your hair done.  It's all Good and you will be in the drawings for the future too! These drawings are getting Better and Better so stay tuned.

For week 8 we have a thirteen ladies who decided to take a little control over their lives, add in some routine, pull out their cute clothes that are begging to be worn and decided to do something to makes themselves feel Better and beautiful...they got dressed. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Costco Skirt (Jacqueline, Tina, HJ and Jennifer S)

Over the weekend, these ladies whom I know from school but our kids are not in the same grade, got dressed and then they starting tagging each other on Facebook about their skirts.  Apparently this is their thing and they refer to it as the Sisterhood of the Traveling Costco Skirt, because they all have the same skirt from Costco. Several of them even own the same pattern.

Jacqueline told me this all started on a school band trip where they all showed up, including a group of moms not on this post, wearing the same Costco skirt. Then during another Girl Scout trip, they all had the same Costco skirts on again. When they are in Costco and see the skirts, they text each other the new patterns.

Clothing can tell stories, clothing can bond and clothing can bring Joy.  This is what the Get Dressed Challenge is trying to do during this time.

Here is a sampling of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Costco Skirt:

See you back here on Friday for Friday Favorites!

  4. I love that outfit you have with the black and blue tunic! I struggled with getting dressed today because summer hit overnight and I have no capri pants, shorts, or even many short sleeved tops that fit. I'm really hoping to get out to a store soon and try on some new clothes.
