Best Taco Chili

The Super Bowl is this weekend. Are you ready Besties? Oh how I long for the days of the Tom Brady invitational football game so this year I am all about the food.

If you haven't decided what you are having during the Super Bowl,  you are going to want to try my Taco Chili. If you can brown some ground meat and onion and open cans, you can make this chili. It's super easy, totally unexpected and so Good. I have made this twice in the last two weeks and Running Daddy is a big fan. We have been enjoying this over the last few weeks as our schedule has been really crazy. Bust out your crockpot and make some Taco Chili for the big game. Eagles or Chiefs? Leave me your answer in the comments. I am just anxiously awaiting the Dunkin commercial with Ben Affleck. Anyone else?

Ok, on to the chili!

Ingredients

2 lbs. lean ground beef (you can also use ground turkey)

1 medium onion chopped

2Tbs. cooking oil

1/2 cup taco seasoning

4 oz. can of chopped green chilis drained

14 oz can of diced tomatoes (draining optional)

14 oz can of tomato sauce

7 oz can of Mexicorn drained

15 oz can of black beans drained and rinsed

Add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil to a warmed skillet. Once the skillet is hot add the chopped onion and cook for two minutes.

Add the ground beef (or turkey) to the skillet with the onion and cook about five minutes until cooked thoroughly. Once the meat and the onion is browned add to the crockpot. Add the taco seasoning to the meat and onion and stir.

Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and green chilis to the crockpot and stir well.

Cook on low for 8 hours. Do not remove the lid of the crockpot for two hours. After that stir occasionally.

Once the chili is cooked add the Mexicorn and black beans. Stir thoroughly.

You can serve with all kinds of fun sides and toppings. Serve with tortilla chips, Frito Scoops, sour cream, cheese, or guacamole.
