Friday Favorites: Smartwool, Roomba, Lavish Lavender, and Two Good Podcasts

Hello Friday, Good to see you. I want to start by saying I am praying hard for people that are impacted by the weather in Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana. What is happening there is just heartbreaking and I pray for relief for the people there. If you can help even in a small way, please do. I plan to make a donation to World Central Kitchen this weekend. Chef Jose Andres' team is already on the ground.

I am going to pivot and provide a little levity with my Friday Favorites and link up with ErikaAndreaNarci to share what brought me Joy this week. It's a little late when I am writing this so this is going to be a quick list.

1) Smartwool Socks

My feet and hands are always cold, always. Since I am embarking on the Forty Miles in Forty Days Lenten Challenge I have been needing to layer up for my walks with Stormy.

I have similar Smartwool socks to these above and they are really keeping my feel warm just with regular running shoes during my walks. They hold up really well and can be washed in the regular washer and dryer.

If you want to join us for the Forty Miles in Forty Days Lenten Challenge feel free to join us over in the Facebook Group I set up. We have over 60 people in the group sharing ways that they are moving their bodies and including a faith element. There is such a need for people to to have healthy spirits, bodies and minds. There is still time to join us and the Facebook link is here

2) Roomba by iRobot

I am not a super techy person but being in this house for going on twelve months straight has me looking at my floors all the time. I pretty much live in a frat house and I am the only one that really sees dirt. At the beginning of the year I thought I might want to get a Roomba. It arrived last week and I love it.

There are a lot of choices but I got one of the standard models and it works great. It really helps pick up the dog hair and anything else that is tracked in around here. This seriously may be one of the Best   purchases I have ever made.

3) Lavish Lavender

I started using the regular Lavish Body Butter late last year and it really does help with itchy, winter skin. I just started using the lavender version and it is lovely. The regular has more of a vanilla scent that will stay with you all day. The lavender is a much lighter scent. Which ever you choose it really helps your skin stay moisturized.

4) Lisa Harper on The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey

I needed a little lift in my week this week and listened to The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey. Since I am not commuting as much I haven't been listening to this podcast as much. She had on Lisa Harper this week, whom I love. She was last on in 2017 and these two ladies just speak to me. They really get me fired up about my faith and make me laugh. Check them out if you need a lift.

5) Even the Rich Podcast

On a totally different level, I am also enjoying another podcast called Even the Rich. This one is so Good. It is well researched and covers all of the fascinating glitterati such as Brittany Spears, the Kardashians, the Getty kidnapping and the Murdoch empire. I love the way the two hosts present well researched information with a twist of humor. This is also one to check out.

Hope everyone is safe and healthy. Remember, don't be shy, come over and join us for the 40 Miles in 40 Days Challenge and join our Facebook Community.

  1. OH yes on the frat house... I will say something like "this house is filthy!" and they're all like "where? I don't see anything dirty." I have been known to go around and point out each largish piece of dirt, food, leaf, etc... I just don't get why I'm the only one that sees it!

    1. Yes, I really don't live in a house that is as clean as I would like it to be. Maybe some day!

  4. Our son asked for a pair of gloves from Smart Wool for Christmas. They were really nice, so I'm sure the socks are too. I've wondered about a Roomba, but I'm such a nut about vacuum lines. HA! Have a great weekend! XO

    1. Lisa,

I am obsessed with the Roomba. We have mostly hardwoods with area rugs so it is just perfect for us. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. I loved this post, Patty!! Those socks look so comfortable!! I will need to grab a pair! Unfortunately, I don’t have Facebook so I can’t join the 40 miles Lenten group, but I still am participating! I have so enjoyed my morning runs! Two days ago it was 25 degrees, so those socks are a must have for me! My mile time has gone WAY down in three days!! Yesterday my time was 9:56 and now it is 8:27!! Crazy! My mom and I were just talking about getting a Roomba! Have a great weekend!
