Thankful Thursdays--Summer July in August Edition

This post and link up was supposed to be last week and therefore the very first thing I am thankful for is my blogging partner Holly who is so darn patient with me. Holly is always patient when I email her and I am like...oh wait...tomorrow is the last day of July and I totally spaced even though I am the one that wrote the schedule for this year. She just rolls with me...I am usually so on top of things but this month has been a lot. Sigh. Now that I got that off my chest I am ready to talk about summer and all of the things I am thankful for in July...even though it is technically August.

-A little summer independence for Hockey Guy. He is at that age where he can make Good choices during the day and work on his summer reading (he finished today!), work on some other projects and feel a degree of freedom. I know that there is a stereotype about teens and tweens...but I have to say, I really love the age he is at. I may not always feel this way, but I think he is at a fun age.

-I launched my big work project and for this most part we had success. I am always such a perfectionist that there are somethings that I think could have been Better, but this was a massive undertaking that involved the design and launch of a new website and database. Everything had to work on the front end and the back end. It's truly amazing how easy technology can make your life.

-Time with my sister and nephew's aka Jack's cousins. My niece and nephews are way older than Jack, they are adults but he has such fun with him. We are literally waiting for one of them to see Toy Story Four to get his take...because we have a lot of feelings and thoughts about it in the Good Better Best household.

-A really Good triathlon time for Running Daddy at the Stone Harbor Tri. Good heavens it was hot but he did really well.

-Time with my girls. Last weekend I ended up getting to see Hootie & the Blowfish with my ladies. There were six of us and they are all part of my ride or die ladies. Not everyone is pictured here but even though I was completely exhausted, it as a fun night out.

-Simple amazing pleasures like the Best gluten free donut and my first real donut in over 9 1/2 years. Yes, you read that correctly.

-An amazing hockey camp. The past two years Hockey Guy has gone to sleep away hockey camp in Pennsylvania that is run by a NHL coach. It is an international camp and while he has some friends that go, he also meets a lot of other kids. They workout and skate probably eight hours a day and they get to have some fun too. He has told us that he learns skills there that he doesn't learn anywhere else. I am so thankful that we can do this for him.

-Most of all this month I am thankful for the love, patience and grace of those around me. This especially goes for Hockey Guy and Running  Daddy. When I am tired and stressed (which I have been a lot this month) I am not always my Best self. They love me no matter what even when I let some ugly sides of myself show. I am truly blessed by the way they love me. I need to show myself a little more grace lately, that's the hardest part.

Ok, Besties...what are you thankful for this month? Use the link below to link up with us or feel free to share in the comments below.
