Friday Favorites: Coffee, Donuts, I am Second, Best Swimsuit and Daily Devotionals

Happy Friday everyone. This week was short and busy. As I try to almost every Friday, I am linking up with ErikaNarci and Andrea today for a list of my Friday Favorites. These are the things I am finding Joy in this week.

1) Sandy Pony Donuts

Sandy Pony Donut Trailer

As many of you know, I have been gluten free for eight years , so the obsession with these donuts is truly second hand. That being said, I trust the donut eaters in my life and every time we go there...I have total donut FOMO.

We first discovered Sandy Pony donuts when we were are the beach this summer and we rode our bikes to their food truck every morning once the boys discovered them. We have also made trips to their storefront in Annapolis, MD. Hockey Guy had a game at the Naval Academy rink this weekend, so of course we had to stop by the Sandy Pony on the way home.

My boys are donut connoisseurs, and they say the Porky Pony is not only the Best donut they have...it's the Best donut period. The other favorite is the Yabba Dabba Doo-Nut complete with Fruity Pebbles.

Seriously, how do you not love a place that makes a unicorn donut for Valentine's Day, even when you can't eat donuts.

2) City Dock Coffee

Ok, so while I can't have the donuts at Sandy Pony, I could have their coffee. Sandy Pony serves City Dock Coffee and it's one of the Best cups of coffee I have ever had. Still thinking about it almost a week later. If you are in the Annapolis, MD area, stop by and grab a cup of City Dock Coffee.

3) Kathie Lee Gifford-I Am Second

Ok, so I have totally mixed emotions about Kathie Lee Gifford. I used to have major eye roll when it came to her, but I think as I get older, she doesn't bug me as much. Maybe it's the Hoda factor? When I think about it, I totally bet that if she lived next door to me, we totally would like each other.

I watched her I Am Second film the other night and it's Good. I mean how can I not like something that has the quote "My Joy is non-negotiable." I totally got what she was saying not just with this quote but with a few other things she talked about in this nine minute film. I may even have to gift myself with this pillow.
My Joy- Rectangular Pillow
Take a moment and watch this nine minute video, you may even start to like her too.

4) Cabana Life swimsuit

This crazy weather around me here has me thinking about warmer weather and someplace fun to go. We have no real travel plans right now, but I felt like I needed a new swimsuit. I find it hard to find a Good swimsuit at this stage in my life. I don't want anything too dowdy but I also want some coverage. I have had luck with Athleta and Title Nine in the past, but I also just discovered Cabana Life. They have cute suits with Good coverage. I picked up this cute option recently. I love the deep neckline that doesn't go there too much...at least on me.

You can find this  little number here and here and it's currently on sale. Even Better!

5) Daughters of the King Daily Devotionals

Just like last year, I am doing something for Lent instead of giving something up. As I wrote about last year in this piece, I have really been trying to work on spending a little time in the mornign with Jesus lately over the past year or so. Last year I read the First 5 every morning and this year I decided to switch it up when I discovered Daughter of the King. Same concept in an app, but the devotionals are a little shorter and I seem to relate to them a little Better. Honestly, the last few days it feels like the daily readings are directed right at me. This has been a really Good way to share the morning right when I get up.

That's what I have this week. Hope you have a Good weekend!

  1. Oh you poor thing- not eating a doughnut and having to watch everyone else? On the flip side, because of that, that adorable bathing suit will look amazing on you! Also, I am not hosting that gratitude linkup but would be very interested in co-hosting one with you- we have to decide what we want to do and when- have a great weekend!
