Friday Favorites: Pray for Texas edition

I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites, but today I won't be talking about my favorite wine, fall fashion or my new favorite show. Today we just need to talk about Texas, because these people need our help, they need some Good in their life.

1) Donate:

There are all kinds of ways to help. There are the big charities such as Red Cross and Salvation Army who do amazing things. The New York Times has a great list of local charities who are on the ground and have the Best reputations. Our family choose The Texas Diaper Bank  as diapers are typically not included in standard emergency relief kits. We are also planning to donate to one of the animal rescue organizations in either Houston or San Antonio this weekend. My employer just announced a fund to help our fellow team members that they will match dollar for dollar and I donated to that today. Even if you just empty out your change jar and donate what's in there, every amount helps.


2) Shop for Texas: 

So many retailers are offering their proceeds from products purchased over the next few days. Here are some of my favorites:

Yeti-If ever you were going to buy a Yeti product, today is the day. Today only 100% of their proceeds from all products go to hurricane relief.

Magnolia-Chip and Joanna Gaines are just the Best and all of the proceeds from their Texas Forever shirt go to Harvey relief efforts.

Joy Week-Hockey Guy and I are big fans of the Bobby Bones show and this week is their Joy Week. Amy and Bobby are the Best. After raising $50,000 in the first day for St. Jude, they changed their focus to Hurricane Harvey charities. You can either donate directly or purchase their #PimpinJoy merchandise and all of the proceeds will go to charity.  As you know we are all about Joy, here are some of the cute options on their site:

3) Pray:

These people need our prayers. We need to pray for those that are displaced, those that are hurt, those that have passed. We need to pray for those that are helping, the first responders, our Coast Guard, the Good semaritans, the nurses, the doctors, and those that are helping the animals.

Prayer costs nothing. Prayer can be done anywhere. Prayer works.
