Friday Favorites August 11: Sharknado, Fall Fashion Preview, More Nordstrom Sale, Easy Healthy Dinners and Renovation Complete

This week week kind flew by. Friday is here so that means today I am linking up with ErikaNarci, and Andrea for Friday favorites. Here's what I am finding Joy in this week.

1) Sharknado 5:

We are Sharknado fans in the Good Better Best household. It's campy and cleaver all at the same time. Our friends have a Sharknado party every year and have a really cool blow up screen and all the kids watch the movie in the pool.  We were invited again this year and there is always even shark mocktails for the kids. Hockey Guy was so excited about the party he could just about contain himself. It's the Best summer night and we are so blessed to have so many fun people in our lives.

Here's my outfit for the party, which is the outfit I have been wearing on repeat. You can find outfit details here. Oh and remember how challenged I am with selfies? This photo was taken with my new pink selfie stick that Hockey Guy insisted I buy when we were back to school shopping. I think my selfie game is a lot Better thanks to this $5 purchase.

And never forget...

2) Fall Fashion Preview: Embroidered Jeans

I am starting to look ahead to the fall trends and will try to post some really Good trends every Friday. Today I am really loving embroidered jeans. While I am a true preppy at heart , I do really enjoy a bit of "boho chic." I like a Good touch of embroidery on jeans but just a touch. I am not loving embroidery on very distressed jeans, too much look as far as I am concerned. I have pulled several options all at the Best price points and even included a white jean. Most of these jeans are under $80 and one is even under $40...what could be Better than that?

*** I work for Target in Government Affairs but all opinions are my own

What are you thinking of the embroidered jean trend for fall?

3) Zella Live in Leggings:

Remember when last week I said that I had only bought two things in the Nordstrom sale...well, make that three. When Hockey Guy and I were back to school shopping, we cut through Nordstrom to get to Sperry. On the way back to the car I told him that I wanted to stop and try on the Zella leggings if they had them to see what the hype was all about, We literally were walking by that department so it was a quick stop. I have been really hesitant to wear leggings until about last year because I always think my legs are too big.

I had some really Good help from a Nordstrom team member and Hockey Guy.  I have to tell you...I totally get it now. They look really Good and will be a staple in my closet. Be sure to follow the size chart if you purchase these. I ended up buying the small.

4) T'Lish Dressings and Marinades

Earlier in the week I reviewed T'Lish Dressings and Marinade which are small batch dressings and sauces made by Tiffany Denson of Alabama. Her line of products includes Cesar, Asian Sesame, Sweet Garlic, Chipotle and Barbecue. These dressings and marinades are so versatile and contain none of the bad stuff like GMOs and preservatives. Four out of the five are gluten free so these are products that are delicious and you can feel Good about. You can read my full review here and find more recipes and order T'Lish here.

5) Renovation Complete:

After eight full months our interior renovation was finally completed and it is the Best feeling. We still have work to do moving things back in and then figuring out what we are doing about furniture but we are so glad to be finished. We are loving the new basement especially the bar area. Our beverage fridge is just so fancy. I can't wait to really start enjoying this space.

Below is a sneak peak of the bar area. We did chalkboard paint as the backsplash so we needed to pre-treat it with chalk before we can use it. More details to come with a full post on the entire basement renovation when we are finished with the furnishings.

Once again I want to wish all of the teachers going back to work next week the Best school year and to all the moms who have kids going back school I wish you and your kids Good luck.
