Even though the calendar says it's summer, it's time to start thinking about our fall wardrobes and bargain hunting with the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I actually don't have a Nordstrom card so I had to wait until the sale opened to the mere mortals on Friday. Total blogger fail but I try to have as few credit cards as possible.
After getting up early to do some work, I clicked off my work computer and headed to my personal laptop to order these items. I did have a Good heads up from my friend Mrs. K on some things that she scored when the sale opened to card holders.
Here is what I ordered so far:
Barefoot Dreams(R) Cozychic Lite(R) Coastal Hooded Cardigan

Hockey Guy received a Barefoot Dreams baby blanket as a gift when he was born and it was one of our favorite blankets to take out in the stroller. I have been a fan of their products ever since, but I refuse to pay full price for them. I ordered this cardigan because I thought it would be a Good option for hockey season. I am also wondering if I can wear on casual Fridays to my office but the hood is giving me pause on that. Thoughts?
I ordered this exact color which is Indigo/Indigo-Stone in the x-small/small. I am hoping this will be a Good replacement for another indigo cardigan I have that should be retired this year. Hoping this will be cute as since I am not super tall at 5 ft 5 inches, sometimes the boys think styles like this look like a bathrobe on me.
What is even Better...I ordered this cardigan at 5:30 a.m. yesterday and it is supposed to be on my doorstep today. How do those Nordstrom fairies do that? Pixie dust...

I always feel like I am struggle to find the right black work skirt. This one looked pretty Good as it is knee length and has a pull on style. I grabbed the rich black in a small.

It was time over the last few weeks to replace and upgrade my bras. I thought about looking into Third Love but just couldn't yet justify the expense. Let's put it this way...I don't have the biggest assets in the bra department. I did pick up two t-shirt bras from Victoria's Secret a few weeks ago, but when chilling with my friend Mrs. K last week, she told me I needed to check out the Spanx Bra-llelujah that were part of the sale.
There is also a racer back style as part of the sale but since I have a little bit of scoliosis, I cannot wear a bra that clips in the front. I went with the Spanx Bra-llelujah Bralette. I figured this would be Good for those early morning hockey games and any other times when I want to be a little more casual.
I ordered the mineral taupe in a small because the size guide said that if you were between sizes to size down (insert sad face). I am thinking that if I like it I may also order in the blue before the sale is over as I really do like navy lingerie.
Jeans
I am estimating that my current jeans are probably three and four years old and I am pretty sure that the skinny style I have is just too big in the waist. There are some really Good price points on denim in the sale so I went with these two brands and ordered each in both a size 6 and a size 8 because I am unsure on fit.
I also think these jeans would pair really well with the cardigan above either with tall boots, booties or Uggs when the rink is cold.

Jeans are always though so it will be interesting to see how they fit.
I have been a fan of MAC lipstick for a long time. For some reason it is the only product I use from MAC but it may be because my skin is so sensitive. I do think that MAC lipstick stays on Better than any other brand. I also picked up a mini MAC duo last year in the sale and the colors in this kit this year were just too Good to pass up. It also includes one of my favorite MAC lipsticks of all time called Twig. The kit is currently sold out but you may be able to pick up the individual colors.

There is still time to shop and I don't want any of us to miss anything.
