What's Up Wednesday: July 2018

Here we are at the very end of July, wow this summer is just roaring by. Since we are at the last Wednesday  it's time for What's Up Wednesday with MelShaeffer, and Shay. Let's take a look into what July had for us.

What We Are Eating This Week?

Honestly, I have no dinner schedule for the week. Seriously. Hockey Guy is at sleep away camp and I have a really big work project this week, so I am going to take dinner as it comes. Wednesday night Running Daddy and I may try the lobster special at Harris Teeter and I know we will have pizza on Friday night to welcome Hockey Guy home but that's about it. I wouldn't do this any other week, but that is how this week is going to go.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale--What I Ordered

Image result for nordstrom anniversary sale

Even though the calendar says it's summer, it's time to start thinking about our fall wardrobes and bargain hunting with the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I actually don't have a Nordstrom card so I had to wait until the sale opened to the mere mortals on Friday. Total blogger fail but I try to have as few credit cards as possible.

After getting up early to do some work, I clicked off my work computer and headed to my personal laptop to order these items. I did have a Good heads up from my friend Mrs. K on some things that she scored when the sale opened to card holders.

Here is what I ordered so far:

Friday Favorites: Movie Night, Erin Condron Notebook and Thoughts on the Bachelorette

We are in the thick of summer and I am knee deep in work projects and just counting down to vacation. Time to take a breath and link up with ErikaNarci and Andrea today for a list of my Friday Favorites. It's a quick one this Friday. These are the things I am finding Joy in this week.

1)  Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon

***Contains affiliate links

I received this lip crayon by Bite as part of the Sephora birthday package this spring and it came with some friends. I have the Glace color which is just perfect because it is a mauve color that I love so much. It serves as both a liner and lip color and isn't drying at all. Definitely a Good find and I would likely purchase myself.

Good Better Best Book Review--Pretty Mess by Erika Jayne

This is the second book review on Good Better Best and a very different read from my first book review. Both are women authors, although Miss Erika Jayne is very upfront about using a ghost writer, and both talk very frankly about their struggles. When I mentioned in an April post that Running Daddy gave me this and another book for my birthday, many people posted in the comments and especially on Facebook that they wanted me to let them know how the Erika Jayne book was. It was very interesting to see in those comments who Miss Erika's fans were. Here you go, here is my review of Pretty Mess by Erika Jayne.

TBB Asks--July Vacation Edition

Happy July everyone! Typically we would be on vacation this week but we are mixing things up this year. So I am linking up with The Blended Blog  for their vacation edition.

1) Will you go on a vacation this year?

Yes, typically we would have been in Bethany Beach, DE this past week, but after 10 years we are mixing it up.  I started a new job this spring and due to the rhythm of the summer, we decided to go away in August this year. We are headed to Hilton Head, SC this summer for the first time and I cannot wait. It will be Good to change it up this year.

2) Do nothing but relax or pack it all in vacation?

I would say there will be a mix of both for us. I hear it is very easy to relax in Hilton Head due to island life but there are definitely things we want to do while we are there. We hear that there is a 5K race every Wednesday morning on the island so Hockey Guy and Running Daddy are really looking forward to that.

Friday Favorites July 6: Best Bag, Better Sunscreen and Reba McEntire

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. We were at home for the first time in 10 years. It was a total change of pace but a lot of fun. Change can be Good. Back at the Friday Favorites and linking up with ErikaNarci and Andrea talking some summer time favorites.

1) Reba McEntire live, in concert

Sunday night we headed to one of our favorite outdoor concert venues to see the one and only Reba McEntire. She was nothing short of amazing. It was so very hot, but it was such fun. That woman is a performer. I cannot imagine how hot she was in her silver spangle top considering it was 100 degrees because I was wearing running clothes. Keep in mind, I don't normally wear running clothes to a concert, but running clothes and a pony tail was the only Good wardrobe option for those of us not singing Take it Back onstage.
