Friday Favorites:Kids Clothing, Eclipse Mania, National Dog Day, Thursdays on the Corner and a Trip Home

This is our last week before back to school. I know many of you are already in and some of you don't go back until after Labor Day. No matter where you are in the back to school process, if it even applies to you, Friday is here so that means today I am linking up with ErikaNarci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites. Here's what I am finding Joy in this week.

1) Sensory Friendly Clothing from Cat & Jack:

Last week Target announced that they will have a line of Cat & Jack kids clothing that is designed exclusively for kids with sensory processing sensitivity. The lead designer's child has autism so she is very aware of what would make this line a perfect fit for this under served market. The line has flat seams, no tags and one dimensional designs to help with comfort and of course because it is Cat & Jack, the designs are the Best.

Find the Blessings

I am going to get very honest in this post, as a working mom, I find the summer at times very stressful. I always want to find the Best camps for Hockey Guy so he can spend his weeks with Good friends. Some of this comes together very easily, but typically the month of August is very challenging.

In August things around this area slow down. Congress is out and a lot of people are on vacation. I usually have some work projects in August which need to be tended to and we go on vacation in July so my August doesn't always look like everyone else's. Camps are hard to come by in August as so many people are out of town this month and many of the college kids who work at camps go back to school. In the past I have had 1-2 weeks in August that I needed to figure out...this year, I had four weeks. I needed to figure out four weeks to keep my work up while keeping Hockey Guy safe and entertained. I will not lie to you, I found this thought overwhelming and stressful.

Show and Tell Tuesdays: Guilty Pleasures

Show and Tell Tuesday Graphic 2017

Today I am linking up again with Andrea from MomFessionals who hosts a link up where we show and tell you something. This week the topic is Guilty Pleasures.

Reality TV

I watch a lot of reality television, well I watch a lot of Bravo and the Bachelor and Bachelorette. I can tell you almost every thing about Bravo and the Bachelor.

Bravo

Let's start with Bravo as that is where I spend most of my viewing time. My relationship with Bravo goes back over ten years with a really Good show called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. That show was the Best and I think really helped make Bravo what it is today. I was also a big fan of Blowout, that show was just too much.

Friday Favorites August 11: Sharknado, Fall Fashion Preview, More Nordstrom Sale, Easy Healthy Dinners and Renovation Complete

This week week kind flew by. Friday is here so that means today I am linking up with ErikaNarci, and Andrea for Friday favorites. Here's what I am finding Joy in this week.

1) Sharknado 5:

We are Sharknado fans in the Good Better Best household. It's campy and cleaver all at the same time. Our friends have a Sharknado party every year and have a really cool blow up screen and all the kids watch the movie in the pool.  We were invited again this year and there is always even shark mocktails for the kids. Hockey Guy was so excited about the party he could just about contain himself. It's the Best summer night and we are so blessed to have so many fun people in our lives.

Workin' It Wednesday-Gearing Up for School

Today I am linking up with Shay & Erika for their Workin' It series. August's topic is Getting Geared Up for Back to School. How can they be going back? Didn't they just get out for the summer?

We go back the last week of August but I have already crossed a lot off my back to school to do list but I still have many things to do. I do have a plan and that is always a Good thing.

Tax Free Weekend

Tax free weekend is a little like Back to School Black Friday. The idea of saving 4.5% in sales tax for clothing and school supplies really helps me get my act together and get things ready for back to school. Our tax free weekend was last weekend so we got many things crossed off the list and saved some money at the same time.

Fast and Healthy Cooking with T'Lish Dressings and Marinades

T Lish

Today I am reviewing some really Good and healthy salad dressings and marinades from T'Lish. T'Lish was born in the kitchen of Tiffany Denson as Christmas gifts for family and friends. Several years later, Tiffany began selling her dressings in a local pants store in Alabama and now we are all lucky enough to be able to enjoy them too. This is a really Good product made without any of the bad stuff--I am looking at you GMOs, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial ingredients.  Four out of five of her products are also gluten free.

Tiffany was kind enough to send me all five of her products to sample and here is how I tested them.

Link Up: The Blended Blog Asks August 2017

Today I am jumping into a new link up with the Blended Blog with The Blended Blog Asks and I think this will be a really Good way to start a Monday. Let's jump into these Summertime questions.

1) Pool, Lake or Ocean?

Pool every day, Ocean as our standard vacation in Delaware, and we just went to Deep Creek Lake late last fall, where I think we need to explore more.

2) Camping, Cottage or Hotel?

Hotel with room service. I am indoorsy not outdoorsy. Although we did really love the house we stayed at in Deep Creek and I would call that a cottage.

Living a Better Life with Dog Ownership

Stormy looking all innocent

One of the Best ways to enhance your life is through dog ownership. Stormy, our lab mix, came into our lives about two years ago and he has been such a Good addition to our family. Stormy is a workout partner, lacrosse player (as long as there are two balls in the game), watch dog (such a baritone bark), super snuggler and homework helper.
